The Simon Farrell Project’s self- titled debut: Quirky, charming melodies and the a light pitter-patter of drums that characterize this release make for an easy listen. Simon Farrell’s crisp, warm production seems almost in defiance of the chill that analog synth can bring to a project. While on the surface this may seem like a spartan arrangement, closer listening rewards the ear with little details and Easter eggs sprinkled throughout. This is a fun listen, and a significant contribution to the File Under_ catalog. Let’s hope The Simon Farrell Project is just getting started!
